This is a katana featuring exquisite carvings by Kasama Ikkansai Shigetsugu, a master craftsman of the Taishō and Shōwa periods. The blade has a kiritsuke-mei indicating it was carved in October, Showa 8 (1933), with pine and bamboo on the front and plum blossoms on the reverse. Both the blade and the koshirae are in excellent condition, making this an outstanding piece suitable for collection or iaidō practice.
