This is an iron tsuba featuring a Botan Karakusa (peony and arabesque) design, signed by Myochin Katsuji from Echizen province. Made in the mid-Edo period, it showcases meticulous sukidashi-bori (relief carving) and kebori (line carving) on a chirimen-ishimeji (crepe-like stone texture) ground. The rim is decorated with sayagata (swastika fret) pattern in kinzogan (gold inlay).
