This antique iron tsuba, certified by NBTHK as Tokubetsu Kicho, was made by Myochin Kino Soji during the Edo period. It features a mokko shape, resembling a quince cross-section, and is decorated with beautiful linear patterns reminiscent of tree growth rings. The Myochin school, known for its long history as armor makers, also produced sword fittings like this piece.
