This is a tanto made by Sanjo Yoshinori during the Muromachi period. The blade features carvings of a Bonji on the front and a koshi-bi on the back, with a mei indicating it was made in Izumi province after the smith moved from Yamashiro. It comes with a koshirae featuring a black lacquer finish and a simple design with a paulownia crest.
