This wakizashi is signed by Akitsugu (天田昭次), a renowned swordsmith who became a Living National Treasure in 1997. The blade was made in Showa Kinoto-U Toshi Yayoi-bi (Showa 50, 1975). Akitsugu is known for his dedication to traditional sword-making techniques and his reproductions of ancient Japanese swords.
