Description

This is a Gendaito katana by Gassan Sadakatsu, dated Showa 10 (1935), made to commemorate the birth of Imperial Prince Masahito. It features a nie deki notare hamon with ko-choji and an itame hada. The blade comes with a WWII shin-gunto koshirae and is considered a historically important work by a modern master.
