This katana, attributed to Fujiwara Kuni, features a robust form with a shallow sori and a well-forged jigane of tight itame mixed with masame. The hamon is a gentle chu-suguha with subtle gunome, showing a rich nioi-guchi. Although the mei is cut due to suriage, it is a refined and excellent work, suitable for iai, koryu kenjutsu, and test cutting. It comes with a beautiful original uchigatana koshirae made with period fittings, including a newly mounted handle with large-grained same and a deep red ro-saya.
