The sugata of this wakizashi shows a good, nimble wakizashi form with a difference between the moto-mihaba and saki-mihaba and having sori. The jigane is itame hada mixed with mokume hada showing a faint utsuri in the ji, and the hamon is nioi-deki with nie-attached gunome midareba that is intricately disordered; it cuts well even when testing it on paper, and this kind of kōchō blade is indeed a very sharp one. From any angle it does not look like a refined wakizashi by Bizen no Kuni Osafune Katsumitsu, but it cuts very well. Because many Kashu Katsumitsu were consumed during the Sengoku period, please consider it remarkably rare and precious that one exists today like this wakizashi. It is a wakizashi by Kashu Katsumitsu for which the sword world is grateful simply for its existence.
