NihontoWatch刃長47.5センチ 反り0.9センチ 元幅29.9ミリ 元重ね6.6ミリ 物打幅23.9ミリ 物打重ね5.4ミリ 横手位置幅20.9ミリ 松葉先重ね4.4ミリ 裸身重量460グラム 江戸後期文政九年(1826) The latter period of Edo era 昭和50年12月3日 愛知県登録 附属 保存刀剣鑑定書、素銅はばき、白鞘 眠龍子壽實は、安永六年、因幡藩お抱え工である幕末の名人“浜部壽格”の子として因州鳥取東部に生まれました。名は浜部儀八郎。初銘は「壽国」、寛政八年二十歳の時江戸に上り、寛政九年(1797年)に壽實(寿実)と改名。4年後の享和元年(1801年)八月より眠龍子と号します。 父親譲りの旺盛な探究心と、優れた技術をもって焼く彼の華やかな丁子刃紋は多くの門人を集めるに至り、江戸の水心子正秀一門と並び、大いに名声を高め栄えました。 その門人の中に清麿の師として名高い河村壽隆が居り、眠龍子壽實の技は河村壽隆を通して源清麿に伝えられます。 本作の体配は、刃長に比して身幅やや広く、重ねは尋常、切先の延びや反りの加減も絶妙で、姿の美しい脇指です。 地鉄は板目が流れごころでよく詰み、淡い映りも見られる見事な鍛え。刃文は締まりごころで匂勝ちの長い直焼出しから始まる華麗な丁子乱刃で、表裏共に細かく連続する丁子刃文が揃い、鋩子は乱れ込み小丸へ深く返っています。茎には丁寧な化粧鑢が施され、銘も堂々と刻されており、寿實の作品に対する情熱と誇りが感じられ、高い技量と典型的な作柄を示す、健体で地刃冴えた優品であり、鑑賞・コレクションのいずれにも相応しい逸品です。 ※委託品

The Shinshintō revival
Around 1800 Suishinshi Masahide argued in his writings that the craft must return to the old masters’ methods: the fukkotō revival. His greatest successor Naotane worked convincingly in Bizen and Sōshū manners that had been dead for centuries.

The NBTHK (Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai, the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords) is a public-interest incorporated foundation founded in 1948 and supervised by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs (Bunkachō); it is based at the Japanese Sword Museum in Tokyo. Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
