This is a full suit of armor (gusoku) featuring a black wrinkled leather wrapped Iyozane (small iron plates) laced with dark blue (konito) kebiki-odoshi. The helmet bowl is an iron rust ground 62-plate hoshi-bachi signed by Myochin Ietsugu. The armor is attributed to Nara Motonobu, son of Nara Motoan, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Hosokawa clan, and comes with numerous accessories, making it a valuable historical artifact from the Azuchi-Momoyama to early Edo period.
