The jigane is well-forged ko-itame with some masame, showing shirake-utsuri, and the hamon is a fine suguha with small gunome mixed in, subtle ho-tsure, and fine kinsuji. This is a rare and valuable surviving work, praised by Dr. Honma Kunzan for its ancient style and historical significance.
