Description

This is a Ken (straight sword) from the Meiji period, unsigned but with a kiritsuke-mei (engraved inscription) that reads 'Hoken Hachidai Myoo, Kigan Happo Shugo, Meiji Hachinen Hachigatsu Kichijitsu' (Dedicated to the Eight Great Myoo, Praying for Protection in Eight Directions, Auspicious Day in August, Meiji 8th Year). It comes with a shirasaya and is certified Hozon Token by the NBTHK. The blade measures 33.0 cm in length.
