NihontoWatchNihontoWatch希少かつ大変状態のよい 鉄地の 笄（こうがい） です。 描かれているのは、つがいの親鳥と 雛鳥５羽の 鶏一家。 魚子地の上に据えられており、家長として一家を見守る雄鳥の姿や、雛を気遣う雌鳥の様子など、いずれにも巧みな鏨（たがね）をふるっています。 製作時期は、江戸時代後期頃。 錆色は まるで優刀の茎のごとく、チョコレート色に落ち着き、来歴の確かさを感じます。 実際に刀装に使われたようですが、形状は崩れておらず、裏側も 擦れなどの傷みは見られません。 微笑ましい鶏の家族を描いた 群鶏図鉄笄、天正拵などにも収まりよく、拵に“重み”が増し、力強い雰囲気をぐっと高めてくれるでしょう。
