This is a wakizashi by the first generation Aizu Kanesada, a master smith who served many Sengoku period warlords. He is the ancestor of the 11th generation Kanesada and his work has the robust style of a Saijo O-Wazamono smith like Kaneuji, often mistaken for Horikawa or Sanpin school pieces. The blade features bright ko-nie and deep nioi, giving it a very sharp appearance, and possesses a quality beyond Tokubetsu Hozon Token.
