Description

This katana is signed by Nagaguchi Sadaharu, a student of Gassan Sadakichi, and was made in 1865 during the late Edo period. It features a robust form with a wide moto-haba and saki-haba, a large kissaki, and a modest sori, reflecting the turbulent times of the Bakumatsu period. The blade has a thick kasane for durability and a well-balanced construction with bo-hi, housed in a shirasaya with a gold foil double habaki. It is certified as Tokubetsu Hozon.
