NihontoWatchModern sword, Seki ju Masanao saku / Tameshikiri sword This sword is Owazamono. 「体配 style」 体配は鎬造り庵棟、身幅広く重尋常。鳥居反り中鋒。茎は生で鑢目は筋違い、茎尻は栗尻と成る。 「彫物 Horimono」 片チリの棒樋がハバキ下に掻き流しと成る。 「地鉄 jigane」 小板目肌に柾目肌が良く入り地景が入る。 「刃紋 hamon」 錵出来、互の目乱れが交じり小足が良く働く。 「特徴 detailed」 関住正直刀匠は岐阜県関市在住で義父の兼秀刀匠に師事する。正直刀匠の刀は戸山流の方が良く使っておられ、隠れた大業物として、試斬をされている方々の中では、折れず曲がらず良く切れる刀として 有名で、河野貞光や笹露にも匹敵すると言っても過言ではない刀です。 本作、平肉が余り付けていないので、畳表を斬る試斬に最適です。 「拵 koshirae」 ハバキ:素銅地銀鍍金の庄内。 鍔 :鉄地丸形雲板透かし。 縁頭 :赤銅磨き地松樹図。 目貫 :山椒の図 柄 :柄糸は正絹納戸色の諸捻り巻。 鞘 :鯉口千段笛巻き鞘。 「刀身の状態 condition of blade」 研:少しヒケが有りますが良好です。 傷: 欠点になるような傷はありません。

The twentieth century nearly killed the craft twice: wartime distortion, then the occupation ban. The NBTHK’s founding in 1948 and licensed forging from 1953 rebuilt the sword as an art, crowned by Living National Treasures and the mukansa rank.
