This antique Menuki from the Edo period features the motif of an Ōsode (large sleeve) from Samurai armor, specifically designed to protect the shoulder and upper arm. Made of Shakudou, an alloy of copper and gold, it showcases intricate engraving with gold and black colors. This piece served both practical and decorative purposes on a Japanese sword's hilt.
