NihontoWatch清平刀匠の本名は宮入栄三、昭和を代表する人間国宝の巨匠「宮入行平刀匠」の実弟として大正13年5月に長野県埴科郡坂城町で生まれ。 昭和16年から兄の行平刀匠に鍛刀を学び、昭和23年に独立。 郷土の名工「清麿」に私淑しその作柄を追求しました、「清」の字も「清麿」のそれを採っており、初めは清平と切り後に清宗と改名しました。 数々の賞を受賞し、平成12年に芸術文化功労賞として長野県知事表彰を受ける。 当作品は長寸で「清麿」写しの覇気に満ちた作品です。 平成15年 5月26日没。

Shōwa to the present: destruction and revival
The twentieth century nearly killed the craft twice: wartime distortion, then the occupation ban. The NBTHK’s founding in 1948 and licensed forging from 1953 rebuilt the sword as an art, crowned by Living National Treasures and the mukansa rank.
