NihontoWatchNihontoWatch宗次(若州) -Munetsugu (Jakushū)- 刃長69.5センチ 反り2.4センチ 元幅30.6ミリ 元重ね7.2ミリ 物打幅25.5ミリ 横手位置幅22.6ミリ 物打重ね5.4ミリ 松葉先重ね5.0ミリ 目釘穴1個 裸身重量712グラム 室町中期(永正頃) Middle Muromachi period (Eishō period) 昭和26年3月23日 東京都登録 附属 特別貴重刀剣認定書、白鞘、素銅地金着はばき 宗次は室町中期、永正頃に若狭国で活躍した刀工です。 本刀は元先の幅差が目立って開かず、切先延びた豪壮な姿を見せ、表裏には刀樋を丸留に掻いて軽快さを備えています。地鉄は柾目がよく錬れて地沸が付き、随所に地景が入り、古刀らしい力強い鉄味を存分に味わうことができます。刃文は匂口が明るく冴えた直刃を焼き、刃縁には大粒の沸が厚く絡み、刃中には長く力強い金筋が鮮明に働いて、静かな直刃の中に豊かな変化を見せ、鋩子は直ぐに大粒の沸を食い下げ、極めて短く返っています。 生ぶ在銘で保存状態も良好。地鉄・刃文・姿のいずれも出来の優れた一振で、古刀ならではの健全な姿と豊かな地刃の働きを存分に堪能することができる優品であり、昭和26年3月の大名登録初期登録であることからも、伝来の良さをうかがえます。

This work carries older NBTHK “Kichō”-era papers, which the NBTHK no longer issues and largely disavows today. To confirm the attribution, submission to an official Japanese examination body (such as the NBTHK or NTHK) for modern certification could be considered.
