This is a yari made by Fujiwara Kuniyoshi in the late Edo period. Kuniyoshi was an Edo swordsmith who studied under Yamashiro no Kami Kunishige Ikko and produced solid works with a straight temper line. The tang is carefully lacquered to prevent rust from the oak used in the handle.
