Description

This is an unsigned Heianjo Zogan tsuba from the late Muromachi period, made in Yamashiro province. It features a tate-marugata iron plate with suemon-zogan (inlay) of various patterns, including family crests, using only brass. The design, with linear and dot inlays around the seppa-dai, shows remnants of Ounin tsuba techniques, and the shape of the kozuka-hitsu-ana also indicates its age. It comes with an NBTHK Hozon Paper.
