This katana is attributed to Dotanuki Uenosuke from the Higo province, active during the Momoyama period. The blade features a robust form with a deep sori and an extended chu-kissaki. Its hamon displays gunome-midare mixed with pointed sections, abundant ashi and yo, active kinsuji and sunagashi, and a pointed boshi that turns back with muneyaki, characteristic of the Dotanuki school. It comes with koshirae and is certified Hozon Token by the NBTHK.
