Description

This is a work by the first generation Tanba no kami Yoshimichi, a master smith active in Yamashiro Province during the early Edo period. Known for his unique 'sudare-ba' hamon, this long katana features a wide body, high sori, and an elegant chukissaki. It is a superb example, rarely seen with such excellent workmanship, and was featured in the Nihonto Taikan as a representative masterpiece.
