Description

This wakizashi is by Yokoyama Kozuke Daijo Fujiwara Sukesada, a sixth-generation descendant of Yosazaemonjo Sukesada, who led the Bizen Osafune smiths during the Sengoku period. He received the title of Kozuke Daijo in Kanbun 4 (1664). The blade is known for its precise jigane and gunome-midare hamon, characteristic of the family's traditional style, marking a resurgence for the Sukesada school during the mid-Edo period (Genroku era).
