This is a tsuba by Shigehiro of the Akita Shoami school, active during the mid-Edo period (Genroku-Kyoho era). It features a unique design with a 'wariken' (split sword) and hanabishi (diamond flower) openwork. The tsuba is made of iron with a round shape and has a niku-bori-jisukashi (carved openwork) and inlay, with a kakumimi-koniku (slightly rounded square rim). It has passed the 2024 Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu examination.
