Yokoyama Sukenaga祐永
This is a tanto made by Sukenaga of Bizen Osafune in the Edo period, dated to the 2nd month of the 9th year of Tenpo (1838). Sukenaga was the second son of Yokoyama Sukehira and succeeded his father after his older brother became the adopted son of Sukesada. He was granted the title of Kaga no Suke in Tenpo 4 and was allowed to inscribe a chrysanthemum crest and the character 'ichi' on the tang.
