This is a newly produced katana, an utsushi (copy) of the famous Nikkari Aoe, made by Kanehiro (Kimura Kaoru) of Higo Province in Reiwa 7 (2025). Kanehiro, born in 1961, is also known as Akamatsu Taro Kanehiro. The original Nikkari Aoe is a legendary sword attributed to Sadatsugu of Bitchu Aoe during the Nanbokucho period, known for its wide and magnificent form, faithfully reproduced in this work.
