NihontoWatchNihontoWatch筑後柳川藩立花侯の定紋祇園守紋図の小柄と目貫で装われた、黒漆塗鞘合口短刀拵が付された同家伝来の一口。大和国浅古（桜井市浅古）の住人であった信長は当麻鍛冶の流れを汲む刀工で、室町初期に活躍の場を越前国に移しており、この一類を浅古當麻(あさごたいま)と呼んでいる。信長の工銘を著名にしたのは肥後熊本藩主の細川三斎（忠興）である。三斎は、愛刀の一つである信長に、蛸図目貫と左右海鼠透図鐔で装った鮫革包鞘肥後打刀拵(信長拵)を誂えたのであった。
