This is a large and thick iron tsuba from the Mid-Edo period, attributed to a Kyo-Kinko maker influenced by Kaneie. It features a design of plaques and scrolls scattered in a serene space, with a hammered iron ground and a copper rim with a rope-like pattern. The dynamic rim creates a sense of movement, as if wind is scattering the objects.
