This is a large and noble russet iron menpo (face mask) in the Ryūbu style, featuring a very substantial throat guard (tare). It is a lovely set with a strong presence, dating to the early to mid-Edo period (circa 1700 AD). The menpo comes with a NKBKHK Tokubetsu certificate.
