Menuki: Shakudo with dragon motif and gold Iro-e. Tsuba: Iron-ji with openwork. 【Description】 This work is attributed to the Naoe Shizu school, founded by Kaneuji, one of the Masamune Jittetsu (Ten Famous Students of Masamune), who moved from Yamato to Shizu in Mino province. It exhibits a powerful Sugata with a wide Mihaba and O-kissaki. The Hataraki within the Ha is abundant, showing the characteristic Soshu-den influence inherited from the Shizu lineage. It is a masterpiece of great presence.
