This is a yari (spear) made by Banzai Naokatsu, a Shinshinto period smith from Isesaki in Kozuke Province. Naokatsu was an official smith for the Isesaki Domain and his works are designated as tangible cultural properties of Isesaki City. This piece is certified as Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK.
