This is a yari (spear) made by Sukenao and his son Suketsune, from the Osafune school in Bizen province, dated to the 8th month of Tenpo 10 (1839). Sukenao was a prominent smith of the Bizen Shin-Shinto period, active from Bunka to Koka. The yari comes with a koshirae, though the tsuka (handle) is a modern replacement. It is certified as Hozon Token by the NBTHK.
