Later, he changed his name to Ujifusa and in Eiroku 13, received the title Wakasanokami. He became a personal swordsmith (akae-kaji) for Oda Nobunaga. The jigane is ko-itame hada with jinie. The hamon is a marumon Kanefusa-midare with hints of yahazu-ba. The ha is bright and the workmanship is excellent. It is rare to find a specimen with a date inscribed on the ura.

Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
