Description

This is an Edo period tsuba featuring a cloud dragon design. It is unsigned but attributed to the Mito school. The tsuba is round, made of shakudo migaki-ji (polished shakudo ground), with sukidashi-bori (relief carving) and katakiri-bori (line carving). It has a kaku-mimi koniku (square rim with slight flesh) and a kogai-hitsu-ana (kogai opening) with a gold fukurin (rim).
