This is a work by Kanesada (Nosada) from Mino Seki, a representative smith alongside Magoroku Kanemoto. This particular Kizaemonjo Kanesada is highly regarded as one of the finest swordsmiths of Mino province, known for his skill and the distinctive 'Nosada' style of his signature after receiving the title of Izumi no Kami around Eisho 8 (1511). The blade features a strong sori towards the tip, typical of late Muromachi period katana suitable for one-handed use, with a robust jihada of flowing itame mixed with masame, and a high, flamboyant hamon of gunome and togari-ba, characteristic of Seki school masters.
