The hamon is notare with ko-nie deki, intensely mixed with kinsuji and sunagashi, and a flamboyant boshi. The blade also bears a kinpun-mei (gold powder inscription) indicating that Ando Denjuro Tomoshige cut three bodies at Senju in Keio 3 (1867), proving its exceptional sharpness.
