Description

This is an unsigned Higo school tsuba from the Edo period, featuring a smooth iron ground with a vertical oval shape. It showcases fan-shaped openwork with intricate carved inlay, displaying different patterns on the front and back. The inlay also extends to the rim and mimi of the tsuba, and it comes with a Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu certificate from the NBTHK.
