The nagasa is standard, the sori is deep, and the chu-kissaki is well-proportioned. 【Jihada】 Itame-hada mixed with Masame-hada, displaying jinie and chikei. 【Hamon】 Chu-suguha based, mixed with hotsure and uchi-no-ke. The nioiguchi is bright and clear with abundant nie. 【Boshi】 Yakitsume style with a slight hakikake. 【Nakago】 O-suriage, kiritajiri, yasurime are indistinct. 【Koshirae】 Tsuba: Round shape, iron ground with sukashi carving. Fuchi-Kashira: Shakudo-nanako ground, autumn insects motif, takabori with iro-e. Menuki: Shakudo ground, floral motif, yohori. Saya: Black roiro-nuri. 【Description】 The Shikkake school is one of the five schools of Yamato (Yamato Goka), founded by Norinaga. This blade exhibits the characteristic masame-hada of the Yamato tradition and a dignified suguha temperament. It is a masterpiece that fully demonstrates the traits of the Den-Shikkake style.
