Description

This is a tachi by Nagahiro of Bishu Osafune, active in the early Muromachi period (around Oei era), alongside smiths like Morimitsu and Yasumitsu. It features an elegant form with a strong sori and a narrowing width towards the tip. The hamon displays ko-gunome midare mixed with kinsuji and sunagashi, while the jigane is itame hada flowing into masame with abundant mokume, creating a rich and varied appearance. It comes with a complete fukurin tachi koshirae, certified as Hozon Tosogu by the NBTHK, representing a type of ceremonial or military tachi mounting from the early modern period.
