Description

This is a tosogu (sword fitting) made by Hosono Masamori, who was active in the early Edo period. It has been designated as Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu by the NBTHK. Masamori was known for his intricate depictions of landscapes and figures using kebori (hairline carving) and hirazogan (flat inlay) techniques, often seen on kozuka and fuchi-kashira.
