This katana is a work by Sukesada, a prominent smith of the Osafune school in Bizen province. Dated Eiroku 10 (1567), it features a distinctive 'crab claw' hamon, characteristic of the 2nd generation Bizen Osafune Yosazaemonjo Sukesada. The blade comes with both shirasaya and koshirae, and is accompanied by a valuable authentication paper from Honami Koryo, a renowned appraiser from the Taisho-Showa period.
