Description

This katana was forged by Omi no Kami Minamoto Hisamichi in the 13th year of the Genroku era (1700), during the mid-Edo period. The first-generation Hisamichi, a member of the prestigious Mishina school in Yamashiro province, received the honorable title of Omi No Kami in 1662 and was known as one of the Gokaji (five most prestigious swordsmiths in Kyoto). The blade is accompanied by an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Certificate, shirasaya, and koshirae, featuring a Paulownia Fuchi-Kashira, Turtle Menuki, and a Bush Clover Tsuba.
