Description

This katana is signed by Unshu Tadayoshi, made in Shimane prefecture in Showa 20 (1945). It features a honzukuri-ianemune construction with a tightly packed ko-itame hada mixed with mokume, and a bright, clear hamon of gunome-choji midare with pointed sections. The smith, Kawashima Makoto, was designated an Intangible Cultural Property of Tottori Prefecture and was a student of the late Sugita Yoshiaki.
